Privacy policy
Last updated: 1 October 2026
This policy explains how I, Martin Stewart, handle personal information when you visit this website or get in touch with me. I'm a sole trader based in Bath, UK, and I'm the data controller for the information described here.
What I collect
This website does not collect or store personal information itself. There are no cookies, no tracking and no analytics.
When you use the contact form, it opens your own email app with a message ready for you to send. Nothing is sent until you press send in your email app. If you do send it, I'll receive:
- your name
- your organisation (if you give it)
- your email address
- anything you write in your message
The same applies if you email or phone me directly.
How I use it
I'll only use your details to reply to you and, if we decide to work together, to talk about and deliver that work. I won't add you to a mailing list, and I won't sell or share your details with anyone for marketing.
My lawful basis is legitimate interests: replying to an enquiry you've chosen to send. If we go on to work together, it becomes contract.
Who else sees it
Your email will pass through my email provider, Google (Gmail), which stores it securely on my behalf. I don't share it with anyone else unless the law requires me to.
This site is hosted on GitHub Pages. Like most web hosts, GitHub may log basic technical information such as IP addresses for security purposes. See GitHub's privacy statement.
How long I keep it
If we don't end up working together, I'll delete your enquiry within 12 months. If we do, I'll keep project emails for as long as needed for the work and for my business records (usually 6 years, for tax purposes).
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask me to:
- tell you what information I hold about you, and give you a copy
- correct anything that's wrong
- delete your information
- stop using your information
Just email me and I'll respond within one month.
